Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller and Contact Information

2. Information We Collect

Modi requires no account, no email address and no phone number. The app does not know you by name; it identifies your installation by a random device identifier generated on your phone the first time you open it. That identifier is used only to deliver notifications to the right device and to recognise your subscription.

2.1. Data that stays on your device

The following is stored only on your phone and is never sent to our servers:

Contacts. We read your contacts so drive mode can list them and let you call someone with one tap. Your contacts never leave your device.

Voice recordings. Sounds you record with the microphone to play when your phone connects to the car are kept on your device.

Your drive history. Speed, distance, duration and route records are kept on your device.

Your photos and videos, and the widgets you design. Images and videos you pick from your gallery or camera, and the widgets you build, are stored on your device.

Your profile, vehicles and achievements. Your username, profile picture, saved vehicles and earned badges are kept on your device.

Your music library. Access to your Apple Music library is used only to play music on your device.

Deleting the app removes all of this from your device.

2.2. Data that reaches our servers or our service providers

Location. In drive mode we access your location, only while you are actively using the app, to calculate your speed, distance and route; we do not track your location in the background. Your approximate coordinates are sent to a weather provider to show local weather, and when you ask for directions your start and destination are sent through our own server to a maps provider. We do not store your location history on our servers.

AI sound generation. When you use this feature, the text you write along with the voice and settings you choose are sent to our server and used only to produce the sound you asked for.

Server-side video generation. When you use that feature, the inputs you submit are processed on our server.

Catalogue content. We fetch the widget, sound, sticker and photo catalogue from our server. These requests expose your IP address and basic technical information such as device type and operating system version, which appear in our server logs.

3. Analytics

We use analytics services to understand which parts of the app are used and where it fails. This data is processed in aggregate, statistical form and is not used to identify you directly. We also use Meta (Facebook) App Events for ad measurement and campaign attribution; your choice about that is explained in section 6.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Data on your device is deleted when you delete the app. We keep server logs for no more than 12 months. AI sound and video generation requests are kept for as long as needed to provide the service. Third-party providers retain the data that reaches them according to their own privacy policies and retention periods.

Emails you send us directly are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request and, where required, to keep a record of it.

If you want data associated with you deleted, write to gd@gdmobile.io and we will complete your request within 30 days.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Apple App Store and Google Play. Subscription purchases are processed by these stores. Neither we nor our servers ever see your card or payment details.

RevenueCat. Tracks whether your subscription is active; receives your device identifier and purchase information.

OneSignal. Delivers push notifications; processes your device identifier and notification token.

Firebase Analytics (Google). Measures app usage statistics in aggregate.

Meta (Facebook) App Events. Used for ad measurement and campaign attribution. Events such as purchase, subscription, trial start and app rating are sent to Meta.

Open-Meteo. Receives your approximate location to return a weather forecast.

Apple iTunes Search and Apple music charts. Receives your search term when you search for music; the most-played chart is fetched from Apple's public feed.

GIPHY. Receives your search term when you search for animated stickers.

Google Maps and Apple Maps. Used to display maps and provide directions.

YouTube. When you open a video inside the app it is played from YouTube in an embedded web view. YouTube and Google see your IP address and may set their own cookies while it plays.

Radio broadcasters. When you listen to the radio, the stream comes directly from the broadcaster's server, and the broadcaster sees your IP address.

6. Tracking Permission

On iOS you will see Apple's tracking permission prompt when you first open the app. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier is not shared with any advertising partner, and no feature of the app is restricted. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

7. Children's Privacy

Modi is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we delete it without delay. If you suspect this has happened, tell us at gd@gdmobile.io.

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation material in the app. If you encounter such content or behaviour, report it to gd@gdmobile.io; reports are reviewed as a priority and referred to the competent authorities where required.

8. Data Security

All traffic between the app and our servers travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data that reaches us. No system is ever completely secure, and we want you to know that.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law no. 6698 and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, to request information about it, to ask for it to be corrected or erased, to object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it. You can exercise these rights by writing to gd@gdmobile.io.

10. International Data Processing

Some of the providers we use (Apple, Google, Meta, OneSignal, RevenueCat, GIPHY, Open-Meteo) operate their servers outside Türkiye. When you use the app, your data may be processed abroad by these providers, subject to the safeguards those providers commit to.

11. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent (for example the iOS tracking permission), the performance of a contract (providing your subscription and running the app), compliance with our legal obligations, and our legitimate interests (app security, fixing faults, improving the service).

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When a change is significant we will publish the updated text on this page and change the date above.

13. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, in particular Personal Data Protection Law no. 6698. We also comply with the applicable store rules and child safety policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
